The Cherry Blossom Program is an Education and Cultural Exchange Program. It is a week-long opportunity for young women from across the U.S. and around the world to come together and network. Since 1948, state and territorial societies, as well as the international embassy community, have selected accomplished young women between the ages of 19 and 24 for their academic achievement, exceptional poise and appearance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, leadership, interest in social, civic, community and world affairs with a strong desire to serve others through community service, maturity and responsibility
As a member of the National Conference of State Societies, the Ohio Society sends one Delegate per year to the The Cherry Blossom Women’s Professional Development Program. The selected delegate goes through a week of programming in Washington DC, and one of the 50 delegates is selected to go to Japan. Founded in 1948 to maintain good diplomatic relations with Japan, the program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from the International diplomacy community in Washington DC. The ideal candidate will have strong Ohio ties and a strong interest in international relations. If Interested, please send a 1-page resume and a 1-page cover letter to TheOhioSociety@gmail.com.
