Being part of the Ohio Society Board of Directors is a unique leadership opportunity and a great way to meet more fellow Ohioans in the DC area. The Board works together to plan, execute, and staff Ohio Society events.

All due-paying members of the Ohio Society are invited to attend the elections and vote.
Ohio Society Board of Director Positions and Responsibilities:
President
The President is chief executive officer of the society and is responsible for running and planning board meetings including annual elections. He or she works with the Vice President to maintain and build new relationships with our business partners. He or she monitors the main email inbox of the Ohio Society.
Vice President (Pending Vacancy on Board)
The VP runs Board Meetings and carries out the duties of the President when the President is unavailable. He or she works with the President to maintain and build new relationships with our business partners. He or she works closely with board members and oversees events.
Treasurer (Pending Vacancy to the Board)
The Treasurer manages the finances of the society and reports all financial activity to the board members at board meetings.
Membership Director
The Membership Director works to expand our membership, manages the list serve and sends out email distributions through Mail Chimp.
Communications Director
The Communications Director is responsible for publicizing Ohio Society events through Facebook, Twitter and other vehicles. He or she updates and manages our website.
Director of Social Events
Manages Society-sponsored events and social activities.
College/University Alumni Liaison
The College/University Alumni Liaison works to continue to connect the Ohio Society with the extensive Ohio college/University alumni networks in DC.
Corporate Liaison (New Position)
Interacts with and recruits corporate members to the Society and communicates directly with corporate representatives.
Congressional Liaison (New Position)
Communicates and works to engage participation from the Ohio Congressional Delegation and their staff.
Director of Community Service Events
He or she plans and executes community service events.
Secretary
The Secretary will take minutes of each Board Meeting and email them to the group following the meeting.
