Battle of Lake Erie Victory Celebration

On September 10, 1813, U.S. Master Commandant Oliver Perry led a squadron into battle against the British on Lake Erie. The battle was one of the biggest triumphs of the War of 1812. Ultimately, the battle ensured that the states of Ohio and Michigan would remain the sovereign territory of the United States of America.
